Trade Your Games affiliate program

TradeYourGames.co.uk allows customers to buy video games consoles and blu-rays or sell their used and unwanted items for cash or credit. We offer cheap prices for used games and aim to give high cash amounts for items. This program offers a 90-day cookie duration.

TradeYourGames.co.uk is a unique proposition in that customers can not only buy video games consoles and blu-rays, they can also sell their used and unwanted items for cash or indeed use them as credit against anything they are buying all in the same shopping cart. We are the only site in the UK that replicates the trade-in model on the high street, but offering more cash for items and selling them to customer for lower prices.
We offer some of the cheapest prices for used games on the net and aim to give significantly higher cash amounts for items sold to us compared to what some high street stores offer.
Selling completed video games, consoles and blu-rays to us for hard cash removes the hassle of people selling on eBay etc and gives them an instant value to the items they’re looking to sell. As there are no fees involved, no issues with non paying buyers/bidders – our prices paid for items are highly competitive.
Average basket sizes are £60.00 and are therefore significantly higher than merchants where orders will only consist of buying one item. At TradeYourGames, as we offer the ability to buy and sell we find that when people sell, they sell in bulk, clearing out their collection of games and often consoles too. Also, the % of returning customers is high as many customers will return to spend their credits on other items rather than simply cashing out.
In terms of commission, we pay affiliates 5% on items bought from the site. This will be credited when the item has been despatched, this takes into account situations where those purchases where customers have used items that have sold to us as part payment, and are reliant on these being received.
Items sold to TradeYourGames will also result in 5% commission to affiliates but as there’s a process where we need to wait for the delivery of the items, there’s a maximum 25 day validation period. If the items are not received within 25 days the sale will be declined. The Tradeyourgames team will be closely monitoring and chasing customers for their orders to ensure that these are received well within the validation period.
As an added incentive, the commission for the launch period has been increased to 7.5% !
Please note, for PPC activity, we do not allow affiliates to bid on the brand name Tradeyourgames.co.uk, trade your games, the domain name or any misspelt variations of this.
Brand PPC Guidelines

• Affiliates are not permitted to bid on our brand copyrighted name and following key words within paid search activity or terms containing these key words: Tradeyourgames, Trade your games, Tradeyourgames.co.uk, trade-your-games etc
• Affiliates are not permitted to bid on misspells or variations of our brand names & keywords outlined above within paid search activity. Examples: Tradeyourgames, tradeyrgames, tradeyourgams etc.
• Affiliates are not permitted to bid on hybrid terms that contain our brand name (including misspells and variations) within paid search activity. Examples: Tradeyourgames ps3 console, tradeyourgames fifa10 etc.
• Affiliates are not allowed to use any sites or landing pages that represent themselves or pass themselves off as TradeYourGames or take any action that is likely to mislead third parties to believe such a site is the TradeYourGames site.

Ad Copy Restrictions

• Affiliates are not permitted to use our brand name within their ad title for paid search activity.
• Affiliates are not permitted to use our brand name within their ad copy for paid search activity.
• Affiliates are not permitted to direct link by using our official URL as the display URL within their ad copy.

Domain Restrictions

• Affiliates are not permitted to use domains containing our brand name (including misspells and variations) within paid search activity (Examples: www.tradeyourgamesandplaystations.co.uk , www.tradeyourgamesgrandtheftauto.com, www.tradeyourgamesxbox360.org etc.)
• Affiliates are permitted to use our brand name (including variations) within the sub folders of their domains for paid search activity. (Examples: www.affiliatesite.co.uk/tradeyourgames, www.affiliatesite.com/tradeyourgames, www.affiliatesite.org/tradeyourgames etc.)
• Affiliates are not permitted to use our brand name (including misspells and variations) as a sub domain of their own domains for paid search activity. (Examples: www.tradeyourgames.affiliatesite.com, www. tradeyourgames.affiliatesite.co.uk, www. tradeyourgames.affiliatesite.tv etc.)

Pop-ups, pop-unders & iframes
Any pop-up, pop-under or iframes that are used to force the cookie onto the users browser are entirely unacceptable.
General Terms and Conditions

In addition to the terms for PPC advertising, affiliates are generally not permitted to use any sites or landing pages that represent themselves or pass themselves off as TradeYourGames or take any action that is likely to mislead third parties to believe such a site is the TradeYourGames site. Affiliates may not put the TradeYourGames website into frames.

Any sites consistently presenting apparent offers from TradeYourGames that do not exist will not be paid commission for their activity. This applies in particular to the promotion of discount or voucher codes. Affiliates will not be paid for such activity if:

• In our opinion the implication of the affiliate promotion is that we do have discount or voucher codes when we do not and/or
• In our opinion the intention of the promotion is to drop cookies, rather than promoting our business in a constructive way.

This measure is designed to protect our business from disappointed customers and to protect affiliates who are genuinely trying to promote our business. It should be emphasised that these terms are aimed at stopping any consistent misrepresentation of our business.
Affiliates will not be paid commission for any activity which contravenes these guidelines.
Types of affiliates not allowed on the program
As TradeYourGames is a trusted brand we will not accept any sites that will be detrimental to our brand by association.
The following types of site are not acceptable on the program:

• Sites that contain or link to sexually explicit material and/or language
• Sites that contain or promote any form of violence, gambling and/or illegal activities
• Sites that contain discrimination against race, sex, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, age etc

Cashback and voucher code sites are allowed on the program. Voucher Code sites must abide to our terms and conditions highlighted above and to the IAB Affiliate Council regulations implemented in 2009, no fake codes or out of date codes are permitted.
