During and after the World War II the Norwegian resistance army got much attention and appreciation for their fighting against the Germans. Others participating in the war outside Norway has gotten minimal uprising, like the war sailors, and the pilots and ground crew. For the upcoming 75 years anniversary of the liberation after World War II, British Royal Air Force has issued a commemorative medal that honors the contribution of Norwegian pilots and ground crew during World War II. The medal is layered in 99,9% silver. The maximum mintage is 45.000 medals.
