Ragnarok's action (in the Norse mythology "Twilight of the Gods") takes place in a world haunted by the eponymous cataclysm, which highly developed society returned to a period close to the Middle Ages. Only the shreds of lost knowledge and relics like the lost underground city of Juperos and the robots living there remind of its former splendor. In addition, the game has numerous references to German mythology in the form of locations (Temple of Odin, Volcano Thor, Freyi Sanctuary), monsters (Randgris, Skoggul, Skeggiold, Frus are the names of the Valkyries), and items (the diadem of Frigg). The plot of the game is loosely based on a manhwe by Lee Myung-Jin called Ragnarok.
