Für unser Fruchtpapier verwenden wir als Basis Äpfel und für den besonderen Geschmack jeweils eine andere Frucht (die Zweitfrucht), die nicht mehr als Klasse 1 deklariert werden. Das heißt Früchte, die meistens kleine optische Mängel haben und dadurch den hohen Anforderungen des Einzelhandels nicht mehr genügen. Dieses Obst gelangt in der Regel nicht mehr zum Verbraucher.
