Who We Are

Founded in 1995, Ecotricity was the world’s first green energy company.  

We’re different from other energy companies because we take the money we make from our customers’ bills and use it to build new forms of green energy like our windmills, solar parks and green gasmills. We call this ‘Bills into Mills’, and by paying their bills every month, our customers are helping us fight climate change.

Ecotricity Affiliate Program Rules & Policies

- The program is only eligible to switches of household addresses in mainland UK (exc. N.Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. 

- Affiliates should not bid on any keywords featuring the Ecotricity brand name (e.g  Ecotricity Energy etc) including misspellings. 

- Affiliates on the Ecotricity must only use graphical elements provided by Webgains. 

- Pay-as-you-go tariff is not eligible to this program.

Ecotricity isn’t your average energy company. Our customers are helping make Britain greener and tackle the climate crisis every time they pay their bill. And we don’t have any shareholders, so we’re able to invest our profits back into building new forms of green energy. Ecotricity were the first business to declare a climate emergency in 2019, and we’re now working to be carbon neutral by 2025. We’re constantly striving to be greener. We work in four main areas to tackle climate change – energy, transport, food and nature. Energy – as well as making and supplying green energy, we also develop new green technology such as battery storage. Transport – we built the Electric Highway – our national network of electric vehicle charge points – so people could travel around emissions free. Transport is now the biggest source of carbon emissions in Britain, so it’s an important area to tackle. Food – around 19% of Britain’s human-made carbon emissions come from the food system, and especially from agriculture. Moving to a plant-based lifestyle can help reduce our impact on the environment, which is why Ecotricity is a vegan company and works to encourage others to reduce their meat consumption. Nature – we try to make space for nature in everything we do – whether that’s carrying out surveys when we’re building a new wind turbine, or buying land that we can give back to nature and create new habitats for wildlife. But we couldn’t do all this on our own.
